Blow Painting with Straws 

MATERIALS 

-Tag board, card stock, or other heavy paper 

-Liquid watercolor paint* 

-Drinking straws 

*If you don’t have liquid watercolor paint, you can use watered-down food coloring or watered-down tempera paint. 

First, set up for the activity. 

-Place a sheet of paper on a tray with sides (a baking dish would work) or do this activity outside. 

-Cut your straws in half, so your blowing action is more effective and closer to the paint. 

-Put your liquid watercolor paints in small dishes, or use paint cups in a base.

Step 1. Blow at Paint Through Straw 

Blow through the straw at the paint drops, forcing the paint to move along the paper in tiny rivulets. 

Step 2. Repeat with more paint 

Repeat steps 1 and 2 with more paint and more colors until you are satisfied with your design. Set aside to dry and start over with a new sheet of paper! 

It can be interesting to see the colors run together and mix, as in the photos below. You can see where yellow blended with blue to make green.

Do this activity under an adult supervision and remember DO NOT DRINK PAINT.

Pintura con soplidos

MATERIAIS

-Cartolina

-Pintura á acuarela líquida *

-Palliñas

* Se non tes pintura acuarela líquida, podes empregar colorantes alimentarios.

Primeiro, prepárate para a actividade.

-Coloca unha folla de papel nunha bandexa ou fai esta actividade fóra.

-Corta as palliñas pola metade, para que a túa acción de golpe sexa máis efectiva e se achegue máis á pintura. 

-Coloca as pinturas de acuarela líquida en pratos pequenos.

Paso 1. Engade pingas de pintura ao papel

Usa a palliña para transferir unha ou varias pingas de pintura acuarela líquida ao papel. Para iso, tapa a palla por un extremo.

Bota a través da palla as gotas de pintura, obrigando á pintura a moverse ao longo do papel.

Paso 2. Repite con máis pintura

Repite os pasos 1 e 2 con máis pintura e máis cores ata que estea satisfeito co seu deseño. Deixar secar e comezar cunha nova folla de papel!

Pode ser interesante ver as cores xuntarse e mesturarse.
